InVance® Male Sling System

Is It Right For You?

Click to print textThe InVance® Male Sling system is a treatment option for mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence, which often results from a radical prostatectomy. The InVance procedure may be used as a second option after unsuccessful collagen injections. The InVance may be an alternative for severely incontinent patients who are not candidates for an artificial urinary sphincter such as the AMS 800™ or do not wish to pursue that prosthetic option. InVance is not for people with:

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Bone deformation or severe osteoporosis
  • Compromised immune systems
  • Renal insufficiency and/or urinary tract obstruction
  • Previous or active osteomyelitis, among other
    medical issues

The best way to determine if the InVance Male Sling System is right for you is to talk to your doctor.

Patient Profile
For about a year following prostate surgery, Charlie suffered from mild stress urinary incontinence. He used pads to control the leaking, but was irritated by the incontinence while he was golfing and dancing. Charlie talked with his physician, who recommended
the InVance Male Sling System. InVance provided Charlie with immediate relief, allowing him to resume his normal everyday activities without having to worry about the problems associated with stress urinary incontinence.

This scenario is based upon a composite of typical patient and physician experiences, and is not reflective of any one individual's medical situation. Individual situations and results may vary.

It was very frustrating.  I had no control over my lifestyle.  It was a constant fear of embarrassment or inconvenience. It’s not a very pleasant way to lead a life.
